Yes, over time - unmaintained beachfront glass develops an etched layer of mineral build-up that no clean fully removes; the worst can be polished back but the glass stays technically marked. The 3-6 month maintenance cycle on beachfront properties exists to keep ahead of this - moving the salt along rather than letting it cure into the surface. If you're moving into a neglected property, an initial restorative clean usually brings it back further than people expect.
