// what we cover

Window cleaning services across the Gold Coast

Residential, commercial, post-construction, and the glass-feature work most cleaners hand off — balustrades, pool fences, 10-year coatings. Pure-water filtration as standard, water-fed poles to 5 storeys from the ground, squeegee rubber replaced almost daily. Both sides on every first residential clean — a sparkling pane next to a dirty one looks worse than two that match.

// the difference

What sets a Zen window cleanapart.

Specifics, not slogans. The reasons clients call Rhys back.

// 01

Both sides on first cleans

Cleaning only one side highlights the dirt on the other. The only way to get a true result is the total clean — every first residential job is interior and exterior.

// 02

Up to 5 storeys without lifts

Carbon-fibre water-fed poles reach what plenty of cleaners won't touch. No scaffolding, no boom hire, no noise, no half-day setup.

// 03

Squeegee rubber replaced almost daily

The secret most cleaners cheap out on. Fresh rubber + efficient movement is the difference between a streaked job and a result you can't argue with.

// 04

Pure-water filtration as standard

No streaks on dry, no chemical residue, no spotting. The same clean you'd get with a traditional squeegee — with the reach of a pole.

// faq

Window cleaning Gold Coast — frequently asked questions

Common questions about window cleaning specifically — answered straight, no runaround.

// 01 How often should I get my windows cleaned?

For most Gold Coast homes, a professional clean every 6–12 months keeps the glass in top shape. However, beachfront properties in suburbs like Broadbeach or Palm Beach, and homes near new developments, often require quarterly cleaning. Absolute beachfront properties can often benefit from a monthly maintenance partial clean to maintain the million-dollar views. Salt air and construction dust can cause permanent "etching" if left too long. It all depends on the weather, how much you value that crystal-clear view, and the hit to your wallet you're willing to trade for clean glass.

// 02 Do you clean both sides of the windows?

Yes. For residential service, both sides are the standard — especially for first-time clients. You simply cannot get a quality result by doing just one side, and sometimes you cannot even see stubborn spots until both sides are cleaned. A big red flag as a Professional Window Cleaner is the "I take care of the insides myself / my cleaner does the insides" line. That usually means I'm going to have to deal with a call back to show that it wasn't my lack of skills that caused those spots. I don't enjoy pointing out other people's faults, especially when I get the blame for them, so these days I won't risk putting my name on a half-job. The Caveat: Safety is the priority. If a window is truly inaccessible due to physical limitations (e.g. permanently affixed screens) or the risk to the property is too high, only what can be done safely will be cleaned. Exterior-only cleans are provided for commercial, strata, and body corporate maintenance plans where the interior is handled separately.

// 03 What if it rains after you clean my windows?

They will get wet. Seriously though, rain usually doesn't affect the result. Rainwater is "pure" (low mineral content), so it dries spot-free — much like the purified water used in our reach and wash-pole systems. Unless there's a massive dust storm or you're directly on the beachfront catching salt spray, your windows will still look great after a shower. If tap water (from a hose) hits them, that's another story — the minerals in tap water are what cause the spotting.

// 04 How high can you reach?

Carbon-fibre water-fed pole systems reach up to 5 storeys from the ground, insured up to 15m. For anything higher, there are a few other tricks up the sleeve, which can be discussed during the quote stage. Most Gold Coast residential homes and low-rise commercial buildings are well within reach.

// 05 What's included in a standard window clean?

For homes: all safely accessible interior/exterior glass, screens washed and rinsed, and tracks brushed and vacuumed. For units: all safely accessible glass inside and out (note: unit screens/tracks are by request only). Note on Frames: frames and sills are wiped of excess water but not "detailed." A deep-cleaning of heavily soiled frames usually falls into Post-Construction cleaning, which requires more time and specialised chemicals.

// 06 How much do window cleaners charge in Australia?

Costs vary by company, state, and market area. Some charge per window, some charge per hour — at Zen, it's per job. Per-window rates on the Gold Coast vary greatly between $5–15 per pane per side. Usually that can include tracks and/or screens but generally they're added up along the way — company-dependent on size, access, and complexity. Hourly rates on the Gold Coast: between $70 per hour on the low end and $150–200+ on the high end. The high end is generally for the higher and more complex access jobs requiring expensive equipment, and a higher hourly rate doesn't necessarily mean higher total costs. Per-job pricing means a fixed cost with no "milking the clock," and an incentive to work efficiently. Win-win.

// 07 Are professional window cleaners worth it?

That depends on how you value your time. For a 4-bedroom home on the Gold Coast, it generally takes the owner 4–6 hours, so half your Saturday is gone. For a budget set of tools, it'll cost $200ish from the local Hammerbarn — and the quality and time will both suffer. For a professional to come clean your average 4-bedroom home, it's around $400 and 2–3 hours, with a result you can only dream of. So you can spend a small amount of money, waste your weekend cleaning windows only to have the significant other point out what a bad job you did… or hire the pros for not much more, sit back, and enjoy your precious relaxation time. Tough choice.
